Man who made threats on Facebook after Sandy Hook shooting sentenced

FINNEYTOWN, OH (FOX19)- A Finneytown man who made threats on Facebook after the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary has pleaded guilty.

Devin Carey pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and was sentenced to time he already served in jail, 29 days.

Carey was charged with inducing panic after writing on Facebook that all of the talk of the Newtown, Conn. shooting was wanting to make him shoot kids himself.

Deer Park Police investigating odd crash

DEER PARK, OH (FOX19)- Deer Park Police are investigating an overnight incident.

An officer observed a vehicle peel out, smoking its tires when a stoplight turned green at Blue Ash and Galbraith. 

The driver proceeded at a high rate of speed. The officer activated lights and siren and tried to catch up, but never got closer than 100 yards.

The suspect vehicle continued until it crashed where Blue Ash dead-ends at Cooper Road.

The suspect never hit the brakes and there were no skid marks

At this point, police say they don't know why the driver was driving in the manner he was.

The driver was taken to Bethesda North, then later transferred to University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Fire reported at Blue Ash office building

BLUE ASH, OH (FOX19)- Crews responded to a fire at a Blue Ash office building on Friday morning.

Employees reported seeing smoke at a facility in the 5100 block of Pfeiffer Road.

The building was evacuated. No one was hurt.

The fire is under control.

Cincinnati Country Day breaking ground on renovation project

INDIAN HILL, OH (FOX19)- Cincinnati Country Day School will break ground Thursday to renovate
the Lower School.

The project is the result of a $3 million capital campaign. 

Fourth-graders toting shovels and wearing "hard hats"
will help with the 9 a.m. groundbreaking. Also on hand will be Head of School
Robert Macrae, Lower School Head Jennifer Aquino, Board of Trustees President
Chip Pettengill and lead donors Peter and Betsy Niehoff, both 2005  Country Day graduates. 

Improvements will include a new entrance, resource room,
administrative space, science room, parent meeting room, reading loft, commons
stage and playscape. Work is expected to be finished by January. Upgrades to
the heating and cooling systems, roof, windows and doors are already completed.

Man robbed, shot in back in Madisonville

MADISONVILLE, OH (FOX19)- A man was robbed and shot in the back in
Madisonville.

The incident happened around midnight on
Wednesday night on the corner of Chandler and Chapman.

He was taken to University Hospital for his
injuries. The victim's condition is not known at this time.

There have been no arrests at this time.

Hamilton Co. parks host photography contest

Great Parks of Hamilton County is hosting its first annual photography contest from June 2013 through May 2014.

The Great Parks Photo Contest encourages all ages and levels of skill to share their park experiences through photography.

Each month during the contest, entries taken in Great Parks of Hamilton County will be accepted. Each month’s winner will receive a Charlie Harper poster and will be featured as that month’s photo in the 2015 Great Parks calendar. All monthly winners will be entered to win the grand prize. The grand prize winner will also be showcased on the cover of the 2015 Great Parks calendar.
