Bengals' Rucker opening Orange Leaf location at The Banks on Reds’ Opening Day

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - Cincinnati Bengal Frostee Rucker and his partners will open an Orange Leaf frozen yogurt franchise, part of a small but fast-growing new frozen yogurt chain, on April 5th on Walnut Street in The Banks.

The Banks’ franchise is controlled by Bengal’s defensive end Frostee Rucker and has as its partners several of Rucker’s teammates including Robert Geathers, Kevin Huber, Pat Sims and James M. Gould, Rucker’s agent and Managing General Partner of The Walnut Group, a Private Equity Firm. 

Other investors include Ken Griffey Junior’s baseball agent Brian Goldberg, and several local business associates of Mr. Gould’s including, Roger Lautzenhiser of Vorys, Dick Satterfield, Bill Swaim, Brad Tilford, several of the Walnut Group associates, and also Lucas Gould, James Gould’s 16 year old son, a partner in Lucas Management Group who introduced Orange Leaf to Rucker.

Madeira business man announces campaign for Congress

MADEIRA, OH (FOX19) - Madeira businessman David Krikorian officially announced his candidacy for the U.S. House of Representatives in Ohio's 2nd District on Wednesday.

Krikorian released a video to make the announcement, just one week before the primary election. With his motto as "The Jobs Candidate", Krikorian emphasized his experience as a small business owner and job creator in Southern Ohio.

"I'm not a politician or a Wall Street CEO. I'm a Main Street entrepreneur who's created businesses from the ground up." Krikorian said "I have created real American jobs, making real products to stimulate our economy".

Krikorian is running for the Democratic nomination to unseat GOP incumbent Jean Schmidt. In addition to job creation, Krikorian will focus on reducing high energy costs by increasing the use of natural gas in Ohio. He also plans to reduce corruption in government by creating term limits and enforcing the STOCK act.

Finance committee to hold hearings for gas and electric savings plans

 

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - Vice Mayor Roxanne Qualls has scheduled two Budget and Finance Committee public hearings on the city’s plan to form community buying groups for electricity and natural gas.  The committee will hold an evening hearing on Monday, January 30 at 6 p.m., and a second hearing at its regular meeting the next Monday, February 6 at 1 p.m.  Both hearings will take place in City Council Chambers at City Hall, 801 Plum Street, Downtown.

“We have a tremendous opportunity to negotiate savings and put real money back in the pockets of city residents, so that we can enjoy the benefits of competition that other communities in the region have seen,” Qualls said.

Last Election Day, Cincinnati voters overwhelmingly approved Issues 44 and 45, authorizing the city to negotiate group buying rates for electricity and natural gas. Qualls sponsored the ordinances to put the measures on the ballot.

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - At its January meeting, the Board of Trustees of the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County elected its new officers for 2012: Robert G. Hendon, President; Ross A. Wright, Vice President; and Paul G. Sittenfeld, Secretary.

Robert G. Hendon was elected President of the Board of the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County. He joined the Board in January 2007.  Hendon, whose career spans four decades in the field of engineering and architectural design, retired as Vice President of Hendon & Redmond, the successor to Hendon-Lurie & Associates, of which he was the President. He is a resident of Delhi Township.
