MIAMI TOWNSHIP, CLERMONT COUNTY (FOX19) - Grailville Retreat and Program Center announces the last in its 2011 Garden Volunteer Days Series on Saturday, October 29th at 9 am-Noon. Learn various aspects of growing vegetables that you can apply in your own backyard while volunteering at Grailville, located on an organic farm.  During this last Volunteer Day, participants will work on soil fertility for the upcoming planting season. You will experience how to apply compost and mulch to soil beds for added nutrients and growing power. There will also be instruction on how to cover crops, weed & mulch garlic, as well as setting up seed extension with expert gardener Mary Lu Lageman.

Please bring gloves, a water bottle, sunscreen, hat and footwear that can get dirty (and a mid-morning snack if you would like).  Tools will be supplied. No experience needed; you can join us for one day or the whole season. Volunteers are also welcome to come on other days or for other hours by contacting Mary Lu Lageman.

Reservations are requested. Contact Morgan Lyn at (513) 683-2340 or events.grailville@fuse.net to reserve or for more information. This program is free and open to the public.
