Great First Year for Anderson's Got Talent Event | Community Spirit

ANDERSON TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - The first ever Anderson’s Got Talent competition presented by the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce was an overwhelming success.  Friday night was a rainout, but did not take away from the excellent performances on Saturday.  Entertainment included an array of dancers, musicians, comedians and a magician.  

Contestants registered online for the event at www.AndersonsGotTalent.com and from all the registered acts, the Top 30 were selected to perform live.  These acts performed in front of hundreds of audience members Saturday afternoon.  Because the rain shortened event to just one evening, the Top 10 did not get to perform for a second time, but they were announced.

The Top 10 included (in no certain order):

• Jennavieve Thomas
• Clara Wilson
• Ashley Tibbe & Ty Wells
• Drazen Wilmers
• Charlie Millikin
• Hannah Kaltenbach
• Ava Sine & Jordan Slemons
• Peter Joseph
• Becca Corbin & Kelly Kline

News 5 Morning Show host, Todd Dykes emceed the event, and a panel of judges compiled of industry experts (David Adams & Michael Tevlin, CCM; Tom Jordan, NKU; Stephen Skiles, XU), along with text votes from audience members determined the outcome.

First place with a grand prize of $1000 went to Ava Sine and Jordan Slemons with their lyrical dance number, Silent World.

Clara Wilson placed second winning $200 playing ukulele along with her vocal solo to “Crazy for You” by Adele.

Third place and $100 went to Charlie Millikin, playing guitar and singing “Not Over You” by Gavin DeGraw.
