MARIEMONT, OH (FOX19) - An announcement was made on Friday that will bring a major expansion and renovation to Mariemont Theatre.
Owners of the 74-year old movie theater signed an agreement with its landlord, Spinnenweber Builders, Inc. to expand the size of the current Mariemont Theatre by an additional 4,200 square feet. The expansion will include two new state-of-the-art auditoriums that will provide stadium style seating with luxury seats, digital projection and digital sound.
The Theatre will also redevelop its lobby area with new restrooms and a new concession area. The lobby redevelopment will allow additional space for the sale of specialty concession items, such as gourmet coffees, deserts and menu selections to be provided by its neighbor, The Quarter Bistro. The plans also call for the Theatre to serve beer, wine and specialty drinks that can be enjoyed while viewing a film.
The plans call for the lobby renovations to be completed in time for the Christmas holiday season and for the new screens to be up and running by mid-March.
This project has been a concerted effort of all concerned with major support from the Mariemont Village Council, Mariemont School Board and The Quarter Bistro.
Earlier this year, Hugo’s Restaurant announced their move to the Towne Square; however, they were unable to accomplish this relocation. Mariemont Towne Center announced today that it is actively seeking an experienced operator for a casual neighborhood restaurant to occupy the 2-story space located between the Theatre and Graeter’s.
