700WLW blood donors score Air Show tickets

SYCAMORE TOWNSHIP, HAMILTON COUNTY, OH (FOX19) - 700WLW is once again partnering with Hoxworth Blood Center to host their annual blood drive on Friday, July 15, 2011.  The drive will be held at the Towers of Kenwood, located at 8044 Montgomery Road, between the hours of 1pm and 7pm.

All donors will receive a pair of tickets to the Vectren Dayton Air Show.

The Vectren Dayton Air Show will be held July 23-24 at the Dayton International Airport.  As a special bonus all donors will also receive a $10 Power Card from Dave & Busters.

Due to the anticipated popularity of this event, appointments are encouraged.  Donors should call 513-451-0910 or visit www.hoxworth.org.  Walk-in donors are welcome.

How to Donate: Donating blood is safe and easy. Donors must be at least 17-years-old (16 with a signed parental consent) and in good health. Individuals must weigh at least 110 pounds and bring identification to donate.

MADEIRA, OH (FOX19) - The Madeira Recreation and Parks Board presents the first ever Concert in the Woods in the woods of McDonald Commons under the Eagle Scout Ramada, behind the ball fields, on Sunday, July 10th from 7:00-8:30 pm.

The jazz duo of Joel Greenberg and Don Aren will play. Don is on bass is most often found playing with the Faux Frenchmen. Brown bag dinners from Kroger will available for purchase at $5. Bring your own chairs and whatever you want to eat. Come enjoy some great music in a rustic setting.

Stepping Stones celebrates Independence Day a little early

INDIAN HILL, OH (FOX19) - Stepping Stones for children and adults with disabilities celebrated Independence Day Friday with a parade, cook-out and old fashioned carnival that included the executive director taking turns in a dunking booth and a pie throwing booth.  The celebration was at Stepping Stones Given, on Given Road in Indian Hill.

Resurgent Capital donates the picnic food each year.  Children in the summer day camp, students in the autism education program and participants in the adult services program joined with parents, aides and staff to celebrate.

Stepping Stones is a United Way partner agency that started in 1963 as Greater Cincinnati’s first summer camp for children with disabilities. Today it serves close to 1,000 children and adults in year-round and seasonal programs. Summer camp programs run through mid August and welcome volunteers.

This is a performance for Opera Goes to Church!™, a summer evening of gospel, sacred, jazz, and classical music, that is a collaborative partnership between Cincinnati Opera and selected churches in the Greater Cincinnati area.  These special community concerts feature internationally acclaimed artists from Cincinnati Opera’s mainstage summer season, dynamic congregational choirs, local youth performers, and some of the hottest jazz musicians in the region and the country.

BLUE ASH, OH (FOX19) - Beginning Wednesday, July 6, Cincinnati, Columbus and Dayton, Ohio, nonprofit organizations can compete to win one of three office technology makeovers valued up to $20,000 from Modern Office Methods (MOM).  Registration for Jump START Your Nonprofit will be available online at www.momnet.com through Friday, August 5.

“Last year, we received more than 200 submissions from organizations in need of technology makeovers, and we anticipate an equally tremendous response this year,” said Steve Bandy, senior vice president of marketing.
