Students help turn old plastic into new art

Students help turn old plastic into new art

SYMMES TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - The school entrance and the nature trail at Symmes Elementary School now are decorated with artwork, using material that could have been pulled from the trash.

Instead of letting that happen, students and their families collected 23 hundred plastic bottles caps last year, and then assembled them into works of art at the school's Fall Family Night.

With the warming weather, the colorful frogs, butterflies, flowers and owls were brought out of hibernation and installed last week.  (Click the headline if you only see one photo.) They are intended to be a reminder to protect the environment.
