ANDERSON TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - Cincinnati Golfers for Charity (CGC) will hit the links Friday, May 18th with a goal of raising more than $100,000 for area kids. This is the fifth annual 100-hole golf challenge for the CGC, adding to the more than $420,000 raised in the past four years to help afflicted children in the Greater Cincinnati community. The event will be held at The Vineyard golf course in Anderson Township.

ANDERSON TOWNSHIP, HAMILTON COUNTY, OH (FOX19) - Brad Paisley will bring his highly anticipated Virtual Reality World Tour to Riverbend Music Center on Sunday, May 20th. Gates will open at 4:30 p.m.

Paisley continues the Plaza fun tradition for the third year with “The Escape” – a fun-filled outdoor plaza area with games, contests, photo ops, food vendors, and performance stage.  Continuing with the tour theme there will be a “Virtual Opry” stage that incorporates a futuristic Grand Ole Opry backdrop and signature mic stands. Performing on the stage starting at 5:00pm will be Kristen Kelly, Jana Kramer and Love and Theft. All three artists will sign autographs immediately following their performances on the “Virtual Opry” stage.

ANDERSON TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - Join the fun and festivities! Party on the Plaza returns to the South Plaza at Anderson Center for its fourth season.  New for 2012 there will be five shows on Thursday and three on Friday.  The event is put on by the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with Anderson Township and is designed to provide a relaxing night of entertainment for area residents of all ages.

The season opens Thursday, May 31st with one of the most talented bands in the city, BackBeat, a dynamic band that channels their inner Beatles to perform amazing renditions of the band’s classic hits along with many other great covers! The fun continues throughout the summer with many exciting acts including: The Dan Varner Band, 3 Day Rule, Bluetip and Model Behavior.

FAIRFAX, OH (FOX19) - The Eisele Gallery announces the opening of a new Contemporary Wing devoted to paintings, sculpture, and prints by living artists.  This expansion of Eisele’s main art gallery that specializes in museum quality paintings by noted 19th and 20th century American and European artists, is designed to showcase original works by many of the finest local, regional, and national artists of today including John Stobart, Jacob Pfeiffer, John Ruthven, Jeff Morrow, and Cindy Nixon to name a few.

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - ArtsWave is announcing a bonus Macy’s Arts Sampler event, The Great Sampler Sing-Along, featuring the Cincinnati May Festival Chorus on Saturday, April 21st at Pleasant Ridge Presbyterian Church. Starting with a family-friendly sing-along and community meal at Noon, the free event includes a joint choral concert highlighting the long history of choral singing in Cincinnati.

 Six local choirs will perform, representing the many different cultures and communities that make our community vibrant through song. This special Sampler event is generously sponsored by Macy’s, and is the final Macy’s Arts Sampler event of the year.

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - This year’s annual Special Olympics Hamilton County Friends & Family Sports Showcase will take place at Cincinnati Sports Club, 3950 Red Bank Road in Madisonville.

The Sports Showcase is a fundraising event for Special Olympics Hamilton County and this year’s event aims to bring over 300 athletes, family and community members together for a night of fun, including special guests Cincinnati Reds Historian Gregg Rhodes, former Bengal and radio host Artrell Hawkins, and area basketball coaches Chris Mack (Xavier University), Mick Cronin (University of Cincinnati), and Charlie Coles (Miami University, Ohio).

The Friends & Family Sports Showcase features food and drink (including cash bar), athlete demonstrations, contests and games for everyone, a silent auction, raffles, and interaction with local celebrities (see above).

Cincinnati Nature Center gets “Back to Nature” with annual fundraising event

 

UNION TOWNSHIP, CLERMONT COUNTY, OH (FOX19) - Cincinnati Nature Center will host “Back to Nature – Twilight Garden,” its annual fundraising gala, on Saturday, April 28, at 6 pm in the Krippendorf Lodge at Rowe Woods.

This year’s event, hosted by Kaki and Ginger Scheer, is expected to be bigger and better than ever. The gala consists of dinner and cocktails, a silent auction, and a live auction. The live auction will feature an original John Ruthven sketch created during the event and vacation packages to beautiful locations including Sanibel Island, Fla., and Steamboat Springs, Colo. Exclusive, catered garden parties and other unique items ranging from jewelry to exciting adventure trips will be sold during the silent auction.

All proceeds from the fundraising event go toward supporting Cincinnati Nature Center’s programs and operations.
