Sycamore parents and students to dance the night away during “Seussamore” | Events
SYCAMORE TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - Nearly 1,000 Sycamore High School students and adult family members (parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc.) will encounter the Cat in the Hat, the Grinch, Thidwick and some Whos during the annual Odd Couples Ball, a dinner and dance where students invite a parent or a favorite adult as their date.
Following a Dr. Seuss theme, the Ball on March 10 will begin with PTO volunteers transforming the high school into Seussamore, an imaginary city that combines elements from Sycamore and Seussville, to create a magical place for students and their dates to make lasting memories. Parent volunteers have been working since last summer to construct decorations.
Prior to the dance, guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres, followed by a catered meal. Then couples will dance to the music of the ReBops, a band composed of community members and Sycamore teachers.
The Odd Couples Ball will be held from 6:30 p.m. until 11 p.m. at Sycamore High School, 7400 Cornell Road.
Volunteers are still needed to help decorate, serve food and take down decorations after the dance. Those interested in helping should email Juliet Knechtly, volunteer coordinator, at jknechtly@yahoo.com and include “Odd Couples” in the subject line.
