Friday night grill outs begin at Lake Isabella

SYMMES TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - Summer is here and that means it's time to break out the grill and hang out with family and friends.

A special event begins Friday, May 24 at Lake Isabella that will help bring people together.

Friday Night Grill outs are from 5 - 8pm May 24 - August 30.

Grilled dinners are $8−$10 for adults and $4 for children 10 and under. All side items are $2 each, a la carte dinners start at $2.75 and beverages include ice cold bottled beer, soft drinks and water.

Nightly local live music by Ben Alexander, Kevin Fox, Brad Martin, Katie Pritchard, Joel Cotton (see website for schedule).

Lake Isabella is located at 10174 Loveland-Madeira Road in Symmes Township.

Brandon Phillips to meet with fans at Montgomery Kroger

MONTGOMERY, OH (FOX19) - Cincinnati Reds second baseman Brandon Phillips will make a special appearance at the Kroger store in Montgomery.

Brandon will meet with fans and sign autographs from 11:30am - 12:30pm on Friday, May 24 at the Harper's Point Kroger. No line tickets will be passed out to fans for the meet and greet.

Harper's Point Kroger's is located at 11390 Montgomery Road.

Anderson's Got Talent Returns to Greater Anderson Days

ANDERSON TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - The Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to present the second annual Anderson’s Got Talent to be held Friday, July 26, from 5:00pm – 7:30pm and Saturday, July 27, from 5:00pm – 6:00pm at Greater Anderson Days! 

Dancers, singers, comedians, jugglers, magicians and performers of all ages are encouraged to participate!  For more details regarding the event and to register, visit www.AndersonsGotTalent.com.  Early bird pricing is good through May 31.  The deadline for entries is June 30, space is limited.

Power Up… READ! this summer at the Public Library

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - It’s time to “power up” your reading skills and earn prizes for participating in the 40th annual Summer Reading Program at the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County. This year’s theme, Power Up…Read!, offers all sorts of excitement by spotlighting “superheroes.”

To kick off a fun season of reading (June 1-July 31), ALL Library locations around Hamilton County are holding Summer Reading activities related to this exciting theme on Saturday, June 1. Children and their families are invited to stop by their neighborhood Library to decorate a superhero mask (while supplies last).

Special kickoff events at selected Library locations on June 1:

Parade route and road closures for Memorial Day in Blue Ash

BLUE ASH, OH (FOX19) - A parade route and road closure have been planned for the 61st annual Memorial Day celebrations in the city of Blue Ash.

The parade will begin on Reed Hartman Highway and Cooper Road at 10:15am on Monday, May 27.

The route will proceed east on Cooper to Kenwood, south on Kenwood to Hunt, east on Hunt and end at the Bicentennial Veterans Memorial Park on Blue Ash Towne Square.

Military organizations, non-profit organizations, and various businesses will participate in the parade.

MOUNT LOOKOUT, OH (FOX19) - Kilgour Elementary in Mount Lookout will once again host a day of food, games and prizes on Saturday, May 18.

The Kilgour Carnival includes over 40 games and rides, a grill/concessions stand for lunch, a DJ, face painting, basket raffle, cash raffle, and bake sale.

The Carnival is also a fundraiser for the Kilgour PTA. The money raised goes to support many before and after school clubs, field trips, assemblies, the teachers’ fund and many other extras.

All carnival activities take place on school grounds from 11am - 5pm.

Stepping Stones 50th anniversary reunion

INDIAN HILL, OH (FOX19) - Stepping Stones is celebrating its 50th birthday with a party on Saturday, May 18.

The United Way agency was Greater Cincinnati’s first summer day camp for children with disabilities and has grown to a $3.5 million agency serving children and adults with disabilities with recreational and educational programs at program sites in Indian Hill and Batavia.

 The party is a reunion picnic at the Indian Hill site for anyone who has ever been touched by the agency. That includes tens of thousands of volunteers, participants, staff, board members and supporters.

“We’re inviting people to come back, re-connect with old friends and see why we’re so proud of our past and so excited about our future,” said Theresa Ciampone, special events coordinator who planned the reunion.
