CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The Public Library is partnering with SCORE Counselors to America’s Small Business, to offer “Your Business: It Starts With a Plan,” a free three-part series of instructional workshops Saturdays, May 11, 18 and 25, at the Main Library.

Recycle your old electronics and plastic products for free at the One Stop Drop

NORWOOD, OH (FOX19) - Keep Cincinnati Beautiful and Whole Foods Market are inviting residents to take part in a unique recycling event, aptly named the “One Stop Drop”, in honor of Earth Month.

Residents are encouraged to participate by bringing hard-to-recycle items like electronic waste and plastic grocery bags to one convenient drop off location for free recycling.

One Stop Drop will take place on Saturday, April 13 from 10am - 2pm at the Whole Foods Market parking lot at Rookwood Commons in Norwood.

Acceptable items include:

  • Electronic waste
  • Cell phones and chargers
  • Number 5 plastics such as butter tubs and yogurt containers
  • Plastic grocery bags
  • Used writing instruments like pens, Sharpies, Expo markers, and caps

Local electronics recycler 2TRG will provide free recycling for a wide variety of electronic waste including computer monitors, audio equipment, printers, and more.

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Every year in April, the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County and the Kenton County Public Library come together for El Dia de los Niños / Dia de los Libros (or Children’s Day / Book Day). It’s an exciting multicultural fiesta where books become the bridges for children and their families to celebrate literacy across different cultures and backgrounds. From year to year, El Dia rotates across the Ohio River. This year, the free festivities will take place Saturday, April 27, from 1 p.m.-4 p.m. at the Bond Hill Branch Library.

FOX19 weather team to attend bowling fundraiser in Oakley

OAKLEY, OH (FOX19) - A sold out bowling fundraiser will have FOX19 joining forces with 700 WLW to benefit Big Brother Big Sisters of Greater Cincinnati.

The annual Bowl for Kids event is being held on Saturday, April 13 at Madison Bowl in Oakley. More than 120 bowlers will vie for high scorer and highest fund-raising titles. A limbo contest, other prizes and area mascots are some highlights of the beach-themed event.

Television viewers and radio listeners can support Team Fox 19 and Team 700 WLW by going to www.bigsforkids.org <http://www.bigsforkids.org> and contributing to the team of their choice. They're also welcome to attend the Bowl For Kids' Sake and make a donation at Madison Bowl.

Attending from Fox 19 is the weather team of Steve Horstmeyer, Frank Marzullo, Katy Morgan and Jeff Creighton. Attending from 700 WLW, Eddie Fingers, Seg Dennison, Brian Combs, Chuck Ingram and Jack Crumley.

MOUNT LOOKOUT, OH (FOX19) - The Cincinnati Observatory is celebrating 168 years of bringing the latest and greatest in Astronomy to local residents.

The Observatory is holding an event on Sunday, April 14 from 8pm - 10pm to help the public learn the story of the people who made Cincinnati the "Birthplcae of American Astronomy."

On April 14, 1845, in the gray of a lingering twilight, Observatory founder Ormsby MacKnight Mitchel took his first look through the Great Cincinnati Telescope, the 3rd largest in the World.  He saw the Moon, "her mountain heights, her rocky precipices and her dells", Jupiter, "globe of surpassing splendor", the Saturnian system, "the mind over whelmed in wonder and astonishment."

 Reservations are not needed for this event.
 The event is $7 dollars per person and free for Observatory members.

Circus Mojo International College Circus Festival Is May 3 to 5

(FOX19)  - College circus groups from across the globe and across the United States are coming to Ludlow, Kentucky May 3 to 5 for Circus Mojo’s first ever International College Circus Festival. The three-day event will include performances for families, workshops for college aged students, and concluding with interviews for fun local jobs with Circus Mojo and volunteer opportunities with partner circuses abroad.

The International College Circus Festival will be held at Circus Mojo headquarters: 326 Elm St; Ludlow, Kentucky 41016.
