'The Three Ladies of Song' being celebrated at The Kenwood

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The Kenwood by Senior Star hosting a musical performance on Tuesday, February 19 honoring the lives of Ella Fitzgerald, Judy Garland and Peggy Lee.

“The Ladies of Song” is narrated and performed by Nancy James and Carmon DeLeone.

Accompanying James and DeLeone is Rick VanMatre on the saxophone, Michael Darrah on the piano and Michael Scharfe on bass.

Cocktails and a buffet will be served from 4pm - 5:30pm with the performance beginning at 6pm.

The event is free and open to the public, but reservations are required by calling (513) 823-3029.

The Kenwood Senior Star is located in the 5400 block of Kenwood Road.

OAKLEY, OH (FOX19) - Queen City Glass Arts, a non-profit arts organization, is inviting the public to a special 'Friday Night Blows' event in collaboration with Interfaith Hospitality Network. This event to take place at Brazee Street Studios in Oakley is to benefit homeleass families in the area.

'Friday Night Blows' is a performance arts event at which a team of glass blowers work together to blow, form and sculpt hot molten glass into sculptures shaped to highlight the theme of the evening. To highlight IHN's mission of serving homeless families in greater Cincinnati the artists will create sculptures made from molten glass which will be donated to the organization.

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Hey hockey fans, score a goal! Show your RED Library card at the Box Office and get a discount on tickets to watch the Cincinnati Cyclones take on the Evansville Icemen at U.S. Bank Arena on Saturday, March 9. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the puck drops at 7:30 p.m. Be one of the first 1,500 fans (ages 2-12) through the doors for the March 9 game and receive a free kids jersey T-shirt.

Be sure to stop by the Library's both to meet RED, the Library mascot. Show him your RED card and then spin the wheel for fun prizes. If your spin lands on “READ,” you’ll also be entered into a grand prize drawing to be awarded during the game.

MOUNT LOOKOUT, OH (FOX19) - During Moon-day at The Cincinnati Observatory, moon lovers will get the full scope of everything including; phases, features, eclipses, rocks, missions, myths, and green cheese.

Moon-day Monday on February 18 from 7pm - 9pm includes talks and tours by local Moon experts. In the wake of asteroids and meteorites in the news lately, there will also be some meteorite samples on display. 

The cost is $7 dollars for adults and $5 dollars for children. The Cincinnati Observatory is located at 3489 Observatory Place.

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Look for RED, the Library Card, to face off with Twister and his other mascot pals at the annual Mascot Broomball game  Presidents Day, Monday, Feb. 18, during intermission of the Cyclones vs. Kalamazoo Wings game at U.S. Bank Arena. Doors open at 1 p.m. and the puck drops at 2 p.m.

RED will also be at U.S. Bank Arena Saturday, March 9, for "Library Card Night." CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Enjoy storytime with Nick Brunker, “The Voice of the Cyclones,” and Twister, the team mascot,  at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at the Symmes Township Branch Library. 

It’s all part of a pre-game warm-up for “Library Card Night,” where families can save on tickets by showing their RED Library cards at the Box Office for the March 9 Cyclones game.
