Agency no longer makes people wait in line | Families

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - The Cincinnati Hamilton County Community County Action Agency Agenciy's new Toll Free Appointment & Information Hotline at 1-866-747-1039.  HEAP’s new Toll Free Appointment & Information Hotline eliminates long lines that clients faced in the past. “We’re committed to helping as many people possible and doing so in a manner that gets people in and out sparing them the inconvenience of waiting for hours,” said Mason Gray, agency spokesperson.

As temperatures drop outside, temperatures are dropping inside as well for many Hamilton County households that have had their utilities shut off. Struggling families, who qualify, may be eligible for financial assistance from CAA’s Emergency HEAP program which can keep households out of disconnect status for the winter months.

To be eligible, families must reside in Hamilton County, earn a household income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines (a family of four earning an income of $44,100 or less), and provide the following documentation:

Proof of all income for the past 90 days for EACH member of the household (for example, all paystubs within the past 90 days, utility allowance information, TANF and SSI award letters, etc.)

Their MOST RECENT Duke Energy bill showing a disconnect notice (bulk fuel users must establish an account in their name prior to applying for benefit)

Social Security cards for ALL household members (including children under two years of age)

Photo ID for ALL persons listed on the bill (including head of household whose name must appear on the bill)

Appointments can be made by calling 1-866-747-1039. CAA’s HEAP Program will also accept a small number of walk-ins Monday through Fridays starting at eight in the morning. Homebound persons may be eligible for a home visits to receive assistance completing an application.
