Free dental care in three seperate locations on Saturday

BLUE ASH, OH (FOX19) - Three local dentists are offering free services on Saturday, May 11 for the annual Dentistry From The Heart event.

More than 500 residents are expected to line up as early as 5am to receive free dental care.

Dr. Rachelle Boudreau, Dr. Eric Henize and Dr. Thomas Phillips along with volunteers and sponsors will give free extractions, fillings and cleanings.

Dentistry from the Heart will take place in three locations:

Dr. Rachelle Boudreau is located at 11333 Springfield Pike; Dr. Eric Henize is located at 4723 Cornell Road and Dr. Thomas Phillips is located at 2131 Beechmont Avenue.

Since its inception in 2001, Denistry From The Heart has grown to include over 200 annual events nationwide and provided more than 45,000 people with free dental care.

Terrace Park teenager creates social group for teens with diabetes

TERRACE PARK, OH (FOX19) - Mariemont High School freshman Hadley George recently created a social group for teens with Type One Diabetes. The group is called Type One Teens and the first meeting is Tuesday, April 9 at Stars Lane Bowling in Newport on the Levee from 6-8pm.

Hadley, who was diagnosed with Type One Diabetes at the age of 4, finds support in her friendships with those in a similar position. “Through ten years of experiences I have realized how critical it is to have friends with Type One; having friends who are going through similar experiences allows you to gain support and advice.”

Blue Ash YMCA to hold indoor cycling fundraiser

BLUE ASH, OH (FOX19) - The Blue Ash YMCA is hosting a fundraiser that will help local families participate in healthy activities along with quality health and wellnes programming.

Cycle for a Cause is on Saturday, March 23, from 8 a.m. until noon.  Check-in starts at 7 a.m. at the Y, located at 5000 YMCA Drive in Blue Ash.

Everyone is welcome to participate.  “The event is about bringing together the YMCA with families in the local Blue Ash community,” said Blue Ash YMCA Board Member Peggy Buskey.  All proceeds from the event will go toward the Blue Ash YMCA Membership for All program.

Those participating in Cycle for a Cause are asked to ride between one and four hours during the indoor cycling marathon.  Each participant is asked to solicit pledges of $25 for every hour of cycling completed, or $50 for two or more hours.  For cyclists who prefer to ride their own bicycle, rollers or trainers are welcome.

MONTGOMERY, OH (FOX19) - The Christ Hospital Health Network is expanding access to superior medicine with a new outpatient center to be built in the city of Montgomery. The Christ Hospital Outpatient Center – Montgomery will be conveniently located north of I-275 on Montgomery Road at Vintage Club Drive. Construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2013 with completion in late 2014.

            “We are thrilled to bring our outpatient services and physicians to the city of Montgomery,” said Vic DiPilla, Chief Business Development Officer at The Christ Hospital Health Network. “Our physicians have provided leading care in Montgomery for many years and look forward to providing an even broader array of convenient, accessible healthcare services in this outstanding new facility.”

The American Heart Association is promoting Go Red for Women on Friday, February 1st to raise awareness of heart disease and stroke in women.

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County is partnering with the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon and the Nutrition Council of Greater Cincinnati to help youngsters “Be Smart, Eat Well and Move More.” Once again this year kids can get their “Oink” on at the Avondale, Corryville, Price Hill, and West End branch libraries and the Main Library’s Children’s Learning Center. 

Through May 4, kids (ages 5-12) are invited to keep track of the distances they move, the healthy food choices they make, and the time they spend exercising their brains with the Public Library by logging their efforts on the Kids’ Marathon “Hog Log,” available at all five of these Library locations and online at www.flyingpigmarathon.com.
