Norwood medical center receives Outstanding New Development Award | Health
NORWOOD, OH (FOX19) - Mercy Health make the annoucement that the Norwood Chamber of Commerce and City of Norwood selected Mercy Health – Rookwood Medical Center as the winner of 2012’s Outstanding New Development Award. Mercy Health will accept the award at a business recognition luncheon on Tuesday.
Mercy Health broke ground earlier this year on the freestanding emergency department and medical office building, located in the Rookwood area at the corner of Edwards Road and Williams Avenue near the on-ramp to Interstate 71 north.
“We’re very grateful to the Norwood Chamber of Commerce and the City of Norwood for this honor,” said James May, president and CEO of Mercy Health.
“Our new, conveniently-located emergency department will be open 24 hours a day, each day of the year. Staffed with top physicians, the patient-friendly ED will have the latest imaging technology and a state-of-the-art lab on site to treat area residents quickly and get them back to enjoying life. The new facility will also be home to physician offices and provide other services for the convenience of people who live and work in the area.”
The emergency department is the centerpiece of Rookwood Medical Center, which will open in the third quarter of 2013. The Rookwood Medical Center is a department of The Jewish Hospital – Mercy Health and the medical staff of The Jewish Hospital played a key role in the strategy behind its development.
The 24,000 square foot facility will also house physician offices and provide other medical services to serve residents of Hyde Park, Mariemont, Mt. Lookout, Norwood and Oakley.
