CINCINNATI (FOX19) - Hoxworth Blood Center, University of Cincinnati has partnered with Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Delta Gamma Lambda Alumni Chapter and the Cincinnati-Hamilton County Community Action Agency to host a community blood drive on Monday, January 16 in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The blood drive will be held at the Cincinnati-Hamilton County Community Action Agency building located at 1740 Langdon Farm Road in Cincinnati between the hours of 10:00am and 4:00pm.  All donors will receive a free baseball cap.

All donors will be automatically registered to win roundtrip airfare for two, compliments of Ultimate Air Shuttle, and a one night hotel stay in Washington D.C. to view the MLK National Monument.

“In the words of Dr. King:  ‘The time is always right, to do what’s right.’ We invite all area residents to act on Dr. King’s insightful quote and do what’s right by giving the gift of life through blood donation,” said Hoxworth spokesperson Alecia Lipton.  “Our goal is to collect 100 units of blood in honor of Dr. King’s life and legacy.”

To schedule an appointment to donate, call (513) 451-0910 or visit us online at www.hoxworth.org/groups/mlk.  Appointments to donate blood are recommended.  Walk-ins are always welcome.
