Contact Lens Wearers Admit to Poor Hygiene Habits

SYCAMORE TOWNSHIP, HAMILTON COUNTY, OH (FOX19) - Of the more than 24 million Americans who wear contacts, many don’t think twice about reusing contact lens solution or wearing lenses beyond the recommended life-span. Responses to an informal survey conducted in January by Kenwood-based LasikPlus supported those poor hygiene habit claims, indicating that many people don’t clean their contacts appropriately or keep up with proper eye care.

According to the survey, more than 58 percent of people rarely or never adhere to the recommended life-span of their lenses and more than 41 percent of respondents sometimes sleep in contacts which were not meant for that purpose.

To add memorable impact for students in attendance, the Browns will bring the truck Alex was driving when she wrecked. They have traveled to 26 states speaking to teens and appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show.

While in Cincinnati previously, the Browns visited eight area schools urging teens in our community to sign a pledge committing to avoiding texting while driving. At Seven Hills, the Browns will speak with nearly 300 students in grades nine through 12.
