Animal shelter, agency partner to provide veterinary services for homeless clients | News

MADISONVILLE, OH (FOX19) - Cincinnati-based nonprofit organizations Ohio Alleycat Resource & Spay/Neuter Clinic (“OAR”) and John 15:12 Ministries are partnering to provide free veterinary services for cats cared for by their homeless clients.
OAR’s Madisonville-based low-cost spay/neuter clinic will provide free spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, and other veterinary services for almost twenty cats living in two homeless encampments. Free cat food will also be provided to these clients. Cats will be picked up at the clients’ outdoor residences on Monday, December 17, with services provided Tuesday, December 18. Cats will be returned to their caretakers on Wednesday, December 19 at 10:00 a.m.
Plans are to continue the program, visiting additional encampments.
Ohio Alleycat Resource & Spay/Neuter was founded in 1998 to promote humane methods for addressing cat overpopulation in Greater Cincinnati. The organization offers pet adoption services, low-cost spay/neuter programs, and assists the public in caring for feral cats. John 15:12 Ministries provides the homeless community food daily necessities, social service agency referrals, transportation, and other services.
