Blue Ash names future new police chief | News
BLUE ASH, OH (FOX19)- After 36 years of service to the City of Blue Ash, Police
Chief Chris Wallace will be retiring in early May.
Chief Wallace began his career in law enforcement in April
of 1976 as a Park Ranger for Hamilton County. He started as a Patrol Officer
with Blue Ash in February of 1977, and served as Patrol Supervisor,
Investigative Supervisor, and was the first Field Commander of the Drug Abuse
Reduction Task Force (a multi-jurisdictional unit).
"I have thoroughly enjoyed serving the City of Blue Ash and am
confident the police department will be left in good hands," said Wallace.
In anticipation of Chief Wallace's retirement, a candidate
has been identified as his successor.
Through a comprehensive testing and
interview process, Lieutenant Paul Hartinger
has been chosen to serve as Blue Ash's next Police Chief.
Lieutenant Hartinger began his career in law enforcement as a
Patrol Officer in 1984 in Lockland. He came to Blue Ash in 1989 as a Patrol
Officer, and also worked in plain clothes drug operations, drug investigations,
and traffic safety. He was promoted to Sergeant in December of 1998.
he was promoted to Lieutenant and placed in charge of Staff Operations along
with the administrative end of the police department. Lieutenant Hartinger
graduated from the FBI National Academy in 2011, and in the same year he was
placed over Patrol Operations.
"I am excited for the opportunity to lead our
fine police department", remarked Lieutenant Hartinger. "I've been with Blue
Ash since 1989, and I am very grateful for the opportunities I've been given
here and the people I've had the pleasure of working with. I am looking forward
to continuing those relationships here in the City."
