Temporary closing to Madison Road Tuesday | News

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The City of Cincinnati announced that the United States Army Corps of Engineers will close Madison Road between Ibsen Avenue and Oaklawn Drive Tuesday evening for three hours.
The Corps will close the road in order to continue testing the floodgate located there. The Corps notified the City of Cincinnati that this closure is necessary to check the floodgates for safety.
The closure is expected to last from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
The temporary closure will alter the detour currently in place for Greater Cincinnati Water Works' installation of two new water mains on Madison between Ridge Road and Ibsen. During the two hour closure, motorists will take the following detours:
Eastbound: From Madison, go north on Ridge, then east on Highland Avenue. Traffic will then travel south on Kennedy Avenue, then east on Duck Creek Road. From Duck Creek, drivers can access Madison. Road by driving south on either Oaklawn or the Red Bank Expressway.
Westbound: From Madison, use either Red Bank Expressway or Oaklawn to travel north to Duck Creek. Travel west on Duck Creek, then north on Kennedy and west on Highland. From Highland, cars can rejoin Madison by driving south on Ridge.
The Corps may close the floodgate on Thursday evening for additional testing.
