New society launching to honor LADD founder

O'BRYONVILLE, OH (FOX19) - Living  Arrangements for the Developmentally disabled or (LADD) is launching a new society in honor of one of its founders.

The Margaret B. Geier Society will honor top donors who give $1,000 or more annually to support LADD's mission.

LADD will launch the Margaret B. Geier Society at its annual Wine + Food + Friends event, which happens Saturday, October 6, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Art of Entertaining in O’Bryonville.

Margaret “Peggy” Bullock Geier, LADD's first president, founded Stepping Stones, a program that provides pathways to independence for people of all ages, and was also involved in United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Cincinnati. Peggy and fellow founders launched LADD in 1975 to serve adults with disabilities. “They changed the world for people with disabilities,” says Vallie Geier, Peggy’s daughter-in law.

Members are keeping Peggy’s dream alive, which was to provide her daughter and adults with developmental disabilities with the chance to lead a fulfilling and independent lives that everyone deserves, regardless of disability.
