Precinct named to national top 100 restaurant list | Restaurants
CINCINNATI (FOX19) - Jeff Ruby’s Precinct, the oldest fine dining restaurant in Cincinnati, has been named to the list of “Top 100 Best Overall Restaurants in the Nation” by OpenTable.com, an online restaurant reservation service. Opened in 1981 as the first restaurant for the award-winning restaurateur, Ruby, The Precinct is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year and recently completed an expansion.
“These winners have proven they are at the top of their game every day, making certain that every aspect of a guest’s visit is both delicious and divine,” said Caroline Potter, chief dining officer of OpenTable.
The top 100 were determined by more than 10 million reviews submitted by diners for more than 12,000 U.S. restaurants since December 2010. The honorees span 34 states and Washington, D.C. North Carolina tied the dining mecca of California with ten winning restaurants, while New York eateries claimed seven spots. Ohio claimed four restaurants.
“We are pleased to be ranked among some of the most famous restaurants in the country,” said Ruby. “This is a credit to our staff as well as to our loyal guests who have been coming to The Precinct for some 30 years now.”
The Precinct this month also created and expanded a new dining space, “The Bar at The Precinct,” to serve more guests in a relaxed atmosphere with food and beverages along with live entertainment.
The Precinct began the Jeff Ruby tradition of dining in restaurants with a story. Housed in the former Police Patrol House Number 6, this 1901 Romanesque-style structure with its round, arched windows and intimate, rich interior is in the National Registry of Historic Landmarks and is the perfect setting for this old-world steakhouse.
