Sycamore Board of Education elects new officers, sets 2013 calendar | Schools

SYCAMORE TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - The Sycamore Board of Education unanimously reelected Jill Cole to a second year as Board president during their Jan. 9 organizational meeting. John Mercurio was elected as vice president, replacing Jean Staubach.
“This is a great team to work with. I know how hard you all work and I appreciate the confidence you have in me,” Cole said. “I’d like to thank Mrs. Staubach for serving as vice president last year. Her wisdom, experience and insight have been invaluable. I look forward to developing a close working relationship with Mr. Mercurio.”
Additional Board appointments included Mercurio as the legislative liaison, Diane Adamec as the student achievement liaison, Cole as the policy revision representative, Staubach as the Sycamore Planning Commission representative and Ken Richter as the audit committee representative. Richter will also serve as the Great Oaks representative.
“It’s been a pleasure to serve on this Board and serve our community,” said Richter. “This Board has a collaborative skill set and it has been wonderful to watch everyone grow together.”
The Board of Education also adopted a new meeting schedule for 2013 (attachment). Meetings will continue to be held on the third Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. at Edwin H. Greene Intermediate School, 5200 Aldine Drive.
The Board will hold an additional meeting the first Wednesday of each month at 7:30 a.m. From January through August, these meetings will be held in the U.C. Education Wing at Blue Ash Elementary School, 9541 Plainfield Road. The locations of meetings after August will be announced once they are determined.
