Brandon Phillips to meet with fans at Montgomery Kroger

MONTGOMERY, OH (FOX19) - Cincinnati Reds second baseman Brandon Phillips will make a special appearance at the Kroger store in Montgomery.

Brandon will meet with fans and sign autographs from 11:30am - 12:30pm on Friday, May 24 at the Harper's Point Kroger. No line tickets will be passed out to fans for the meet and greet.

Harper's Point Kroger's is located at 11390 Montgomery Road.

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - For the fourth consecutive year, local Coldwell Banker West Shell offices contiunue their support for the Cincinnati Reds Community Fund.

The company sponsors a variety of events throughout the year including the Redlegs Run 5K and The Match Program.

“We are extremely proud of the program’s growth that now includes sixteen organizations all of which benefit from the Community Fund,” says Joe King president of Coldwell Banker West Shell.  “Our group of agents and managers are incredibly committed to making a difference in the community and take pride in our contributions.  They have willingly volunteered their time to ensure that Coldwell Banker West Shell representatives are at each and every game to provide food, prizes and fun games for the kids to play. “

The Redlegs Run 5K is scheduled for Saturday, June 1. This is the first year that Coldwell Banker West Shell has sponsored and entered the race.

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Archbishop Moeller High School Varsity Rugby team will be hosting Indian Springs for the Regional Final on Saturday, May 18, match at 5pm, at Moeller High School, located at 9001 Montgomery Road.

This event features high school players from two high profile rugby programs.  Come and watch as the 2012 defending State Runner-Up Champions, Moeller Crusaders, as they host Indian Spring.

 

Match times are:  4PM – Gate Opens at Gerry Faust Athletic Complex

                                5PM – Match begins

 Admissions:$5.00 per person.

Mariemont senior signs letter of intent commiting to BGSU

MARIEMONT, OH (FOX19)  - Mariemont High School senior athlete Nathan Kuck signed a letter of commitment to become a member of the Bowling Green State University Cross Country and Track and Field teams in 2013-14.

Nathan, son of Wendy and Peter Mains of Columbia Township, has been a four-year varsity member of the Warrior Cross Country and Track and Field teams.  Nathan received the Cincinnati Hills Scholar Athlete Award in each year at Mariemont High School, while maintaining a 4.2 grade point average.

Nathan is a three-time state qualifier with the cross country program while earning 1st and 2nd  Team All-City recognition and All-CHL recognition.  Nathan has also earned the CHL Most Valuable Athlete award.

Open house in celebration of 100th season of Cincinnati Lawn Bowling Club

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Celebrate the 100th season of the the Cincinnati Lawn Bowling Club at their Open House on Saturday, May 4 from 10 a.m. to noon.

The open house will be held at the Little Miami Golf Center, the club’s home “green” and the only place to play within 250 miles of Cincinnati.

Lawn bowling is a fun, but competitive, low-impact game with similarities to curling and bocce ball. Cincinnati Lawn Bowling Club members will provide a relaxed introduction to the sport, with game instructions and lessons, as well as free snacks and beverages.

Equipment will also be provided for participants to try out the sport for themselves through hands-on demonstrations and short games.

The Little Miami Golf Center is located at 3811 Newtown Road. A valid Hamilton County Park District Motor Vehicle Permit ($10.00 annual; $3.00 daily) is required to enter the park.

SYCAMORE TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - The Sycamore Athletic Boosters will host their annual Jim Walter Memorial Golf Outing at Blue Ash Golf Course, 4040 Cooper Road.  The event on May 10 supports athletics in Sycamore Community Schools.

“The Sycamore Athletic Boosters have provided nearly $1 million toward the advancement and success of Sycamore sports in the last decade and the annual golf outing is a big part of that.  This year we have an added commitment above and beyond our usual projects to provide $225,000 to help fund a much-needed, all-weather, multi-purpose turf field at Sycamore High School,” said Betty Berling, a member of the Sycamore Athletic Boosters.

Open to the public, tickets to the golf outing are $150 and include one 18-hole round of golf, golf cart, snacks, beverages, lunch and a dinner at the Cooper Creek Event Center.  Tee times are available at 7:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
