Blue Ash conducting survey for park name

Blue Ash conducting survey for park name

BLUE ASH, OH (FOX19) - The City of Blue Ash has launched a survey to help name a new park the city will begin constructing in 2012.  The survey can be found at blueash.com.

Ironically, many of the proposed names refer to the presence of the Blue Ash Airport, which was supposed to be moved to remaining land on the site that is still owned by the City of Cincinnati, which owns the airport and once owned all the property.  Recently, people who use the airport claimed that inaction by the City of Cincinnati could lead to the airport going out of business.

The survey is part of an ongoing effort to keep citizens involved in the planning of the park.  To date, planners have conducted dozens of stakeholder meetings involving residents, corporate citizens, and special interest groups.  Blue Ash also hosted open houses and community display booths.  More than 1,500 surveys were collected about the park d

Sycamore celebrates Bus Safety Week, shares safety measures

SYCAMORE TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - Sycamore Community Schools will celebrate National School Bus Safety Week from October 17-21.

This year’s theme, “Be Aware – Know the Danger Zone”, reminds students to stay 10 feet away from all sides of a bus and to never go behind it. They should also cross in front of a bus where they can be seen by the bus driver.

“Fifty-nine Sycamore bus drivers are dedicated to providing safe transportation to nearly 4,000 students on Sycamore school buses each day.  Our drivers and monitors work with parents, staff and community members to ensure the safety of students as they enter and exit the bus,” explained Melissa Horning, Sycamore’s transportation manager. “To further ensure safety, Sycamore buses are maintained in safe condition and are inspected by the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Sycamore has passed these inspections with a 100 percent rate.
