SYCAMORE TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - The Sycamore Choral program, under the direction of Mr. Ken Holdt, began the 2012-13 school year at a brisk pace. In October, the annual Variety Show was held at the Sycamore High School and  showcased musicians, vocalists, juggler, and dancers from the student body of the high school.

Later that month, the choir traveled with the Sycamore Band and Orchestra to Disney World for vocal seminars and the opportunity to perform at Disney property.

A Winter Choral concert in late November showcased more than 140 students involved in the curricular and extracurricular choirs and featured the Cincinnati Collaborative Ringing Project under the direction of Lissa Ray, retired music teacher from Montgomery Elementary.

Select Choir and Bella Voce Choir toured the Sycamore community in December to bring entertaining, uplifting and holiday music to the Seasons, Twin Lakes, Carriage Court, Montgomery Woman's Club, Arbor Courts, Crestview Presbyterian Woman's Group, Maple Dale Elementary and Rotary.

The Select Choir, including Madrigal, Sweet and Shag a cappella ensembles, also gave their voices to the school community by visiting Montgomery Elementary, Symmes Elementary, Blue Ash Elementary, and Greene School.

The next choral event is February 9th at Sycamore High School. Auditioned students will perform as soloists or in small ensembles in a Cabaret format. Coffee and desserts are served and the community is welcome to attend. Advanced tickets are available for a fee.
